Joanna Pantazi is an expat psychologist. Originally from Athens, Greece, she has also lived in Ireland, Belgium and The Netherlands. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from University of Crete and a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Leiden University. Since 2013 she has been living in The Hague, where she established her private practice Youniverse Therapy.

Being an expat myself, I realize that every day can be a challenge.

We are urged to constantly adjust to the demands of a new - and often perplexing - cultural environment; in addition to all the issues each individual has to deal with in their personal lives. In 2014 motivated by the expat life and working together with a team of colleagues, we founded the Network of Greek Psychologists in the Netherlands, an initiative that aims to support the growing Greek community of the Netherlands by offering psychoeducational seminars, psychological support and more activities.

I am committed to constantly enhancing my knowledge and being up to date with my methodologies, which is why I have been attending educational seminars on a variety of psychotherapy-related topics. In 2017 I completed my training on EMDR trauma therapy at the Institute of Traumatherapy in Athens.

I am interested in interpersonal psychology, relationship dynamics, attachment styles and traumas, personality disorders and the role of primary family relationships in personality development and have worked with a wide variety of client issues so far, such as anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, eating disorders, relationship issues, stress management, traumatic experiences, and more.
